From Wikipedia:
Joan of Arcadia is about a teenage girl, Joan Girardi (played by Amber Tamblyn), who sees and speaks with God in the form of various people such as small children, teenage boys, elderly ladies, transients, passers by, etc. Joan is asked by God to perform tasks that often appear to be trivial or contrary, but the end result of which is always positive towards a larger situation.
The show was a favorite with critics and won the prestigious Humanitas Prize, the People's Choice Award, as well as being one of the few television shows to be nominated for an Emmy Award in the first season, for Best Dramatic Series. The title is a portmanteau of Joan of Arc and the fictional city of Arcadia, Maryland.
Moving on......
The score? I'm definitely loving it! This is one of them good shows that got canceled after 2 seasons. So sad. It really is good and inspirational. Some episodes made me cry, and some made me wonder and ponder about my own life.
And God, and all his incarnations, is really interesting.
I think the fact that Joan is ... just average, I think that’s the whole message, that you don’t have to be a special person in order to talk to God.’ - Amber Tamblyn (Joan)
Go watch this show. Give it a try. You won't believe what it might teach you.
